NZiPhone.com

Access your web-based email, documents, presentations or spreadsheets via the web (http://my.nzmac.com) or on your iPhone (http://m2.nzmac.com).You will get redirected and take advantage of Google's systems, so that you can work from anywhere in the world. You can also set up your email application to download your NZMac.com emails.

I'm really excited to be able to bring the ability for users of the site to have their own "NZMac.com" email address, with a massive 6 Gb of email space and access to Google's online documents, presentations and spreadsheets systems, as well as superb spam filtering on email. You also are able to have your NZMac.com email check for emails in up to 5 other email accounts on other systems or with your ISP!

Every email account issued will also work using the "nziphone.com" domain as the reply address...so This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it can also have his email sent to him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , with it appearing in his NZMac.com email account.

If you are one of the people that can qualify for an account (as described below) and you are interested and willing to simply support NZMac.com in a very subtle way by having an NZMac.com email account, feel free to email me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Please understand that you do get an email address that has no mention of Google in it at all....( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Guidelines

  • Accounts are available to registrants of the NZMac.com or NZiPhone.com forum only (this ensures that we have a valid email contact address for you and that you have completed the process that block spammers).
  • To establish your account I need a First Name, Last Name and what you would like as an email name, which can be negotiated but should reflect who you are or your 'identity' on the NZMac.com or NZiPhone.com website. Inappropriate/rude usernames are not allowed, nor are 'reserved' names such as "webmaster" or "administration" that might imply you run NZMac.com
  • Names and username cannot be altered within the NZMac.com site and email addresses will also not be able to be altered without consultation
  • The service is a free service provided by NZMac.com and NZiPhone.com through Google. Neither party takes responsibility for any damage or loss of emails or other documents incurred through the use of the system
  • You agree not to use the email address to represent the NZMac.com or NZiPhone.com website or bring the sites into disrepute
  • To use an email client, you need to log in to your web-based account, enable the POP feature and then set up your email program using the settings all Gmail users do...
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12103&topic=1555...BUT... use your ENTIRE domain email address as the username (such as This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) in your settings for your email program, and then your password for your email account.

Notification of email using Google Notifier

At work I want some sort of notification that I have a new NZMac.com email without having to use a web browser or downloading the emails themselves. The way I do this is to have a small application running that places an envelope icon in my menu bar that checks my account for email.

The official (from Google) "Google Notifier" application will do this...http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/notifier_mac.html....however in the past it has sometimes stopped working when trying to check NZMac.com accounts.

If there is an issue this great application has been released, is under development and does exactly the same thing....http://troelsbay.eu/software/hostedmail

Quick Tips ( PLEASE use the online help at Google first!)

How to stop your real name showing in the email address...

  • Log in to your email account via http://my.nzmac.com
  • Click on "Settings" in the top right
  • Click on the "Accounts" tab
  • Over on the right, click on "edit info"
  • In the pop-up window that appears, change the "Name" option to the select box and in that box, enter something such as your email address (like This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or a new name
