One of the coolest features of Leopard is something that I touched on in my last post, that of Automator's "Watch Me Do" feature.

I've used this feature before under Novell and Windows Server has something similar but nowhere near as cool as Novell's offering.

Basically what it does is record your movements as a Workflow allowing you to do some truely amazing things. How much it imitates Novell's ZenWorks remains to be seen but then most of the features of ZenWorks were for application snaps which is a different kettle of fish to being able to access ev

Okay, so Leopard gets released tomorrow and I've pre-booked my copy. Unfortunately due to not having a credit card I had to book over the phone using Internet Banking so hopefully my payment clears today (as of writing) meaning I should have it tomorrow. If not Saturday.

The ordering process was interesting. I called the 0800 number and after 4 or 5 menus selects I spoke to a nice chap called Andrew who was in America. Funnily he couldn't understand my accent so when I said "e" he heard "v" or "b" so I had to phonetically spell my e-mail address.

I'm coming out with this straight up. I'm an anti-capitalist. I think capitalism has done more bad for society than it has done good, turning it into a me-first society rather than a for-the-collective-good society. Of all the corporations that I hate the one I loath the most is the Music Industry, so when Radiohead - one of the biggest names in music today - comes out and says "we're going it alone so give us what you think we're worth" and this inspires Nine Inch Nails to do the same - especially after they just told all their Aussie fans to pirate their latest a

So last night I was driving home from Porirua after doing a job there and a thought occurred to me. The world's most powerful supercomputer is still less intelligent than a snail. And that's when it occurred to me. Instead of working on quantum computers, we should just go down to our gardens and get a snail and automatically we'd be one up on the current supercomputers. Even with quantum computers you're still using the same principles as current computers thus you'll just get faster idiots.

Using trained snails solves a number of issues related to current compute

So I'm in the shower - where most of my great thinking is done - and it occurred to me that with all my experience in the corporate world how much I hate the corporate world.

The reason for this is that they don't get things done. They can't. The corporate world is so tied up with red tape that it's impossible to get things done despite best efforts.

But even if you removed the red tape you still wouldn't be able to get anything done on account of the IT infrastructure. Windows doesn't work therefore how can anyone using it work either?

That seems t
