I've been a Windows PC user since 3.11 (or was that 3.1), I can honestly say I know alot about PCs, been there done that had the BSOD many many times. I will also make it clear that I do not claim to be any PC guru (There is always somebody else smarter)
I survived through Win 95, 98, 98se, Nt, Me, 2K, XP and gave up once they rolled out Vista.
Now i'm a mac user, I had used one before briefly about 5 years ago when I was working for a Wgtn office of Tech Rentals NZ. They had all the toys and we could play with anything we liked. Used to take home a Titanium powerbook just to watch DVDs in the weekend (connected to the data projector I also took home)
I've started my true Mac beginning with a Macbook Pro 17". Yes its a overkill as I was just going to get a MacBook worth about $2K. Ending up spending $3.8K for $4.6K of Mac hardware. It was such a great deal that I couldnt say no, my wife said no but in true husband fashion I just did it any way and after the 1 night of divorce all is good and I now have the mac.
I asked on the NZMac fourm how I could contribute to the site/forum, Phil suggested I start a blog, maybe to detail my migration experience from PC to Mac - aka Bad to Good side - rubbish to good. (I already have a blog but I can do two!).
So Mac people, here is the start of my contribution...stand by, thunderbirds are GO!

Going MAC 2 (Too) Great to find another MAC convert. I go back to DOS 3.0!! Also Intel 286. Wow. Keen to read your experiences. I have kept a Win laptop with Vista as I teach older persons through SeniorNet on basic computer use and digital photography. Have sold my PC and all other Win gear and software. Have raised almost most of what I paid for the MAC! |
