The second podcast from the NZMac.com site is now available, with commentary from Mark Webster, Editor of New Zealand Macguide Magazine. Listen to it here.

In the podcast, Mark talks about the Mac and the publishing revolution of which Macs are an integral part. He reminisces about how he came to be involved in using a Mac and ultimately, being the editor of the only Mac magazine in New Zealand.

mark_webster.jpg"I often joke that I had a job that turned into a hobby and a hobby that turned into a job”, he says, referring to his job with Classic Cars magazine that he carried out with a Mac, that ultimately lead to using his Mac to write about these great computers.

Mark talks about the pre-press revolution, the success of Parkside Media and Macguide magazine, and how involved Apple is in successfully revolutionising other fields, such as music, recording and video.

"Life as we know it would simply not be like this without Apple”, he comments. "It’s small market share of PC users worldwide is incredibly disproportionate to its massive impact across western cultures and societies.”

Commenting that the Macguide readership continues to grow, he concludes that "It’s the best job I've ever had"...and then encourages all Mac users to keep doing wonderful things, and keep staying in touch.

Many thanks to Mark for this podcast and getting it to me early, so I can publish it in advance of a short break. Roll on sunny Nelson!
