I'm pleased to announce another surprise podcast by NZMac.com users for the NZMac.com community. Site user DavidNZ has caught the podcast bug and decided that there was no time like to present to record another chat session...this time with well-known site users Lowededwookie and Gimli.

Participants in this podcast are...

DavidNZ - David is an academic from Dunedin (and the person who first put forward the idea of the roundtable podcast ) who started out on Mac with a Powerbook 165, then an LC II, then a IIci, and then went to Windows for about 10 years (out of necessity). He rejoined the mac world in November 2006 with a black MacBook, but emailed the other day to say he’s now using a brand new MacBook Pro!

Gimli/Alan - Is a former Primary School teacher, who has only ever used Macs...starting with a Mac Classic and working his way through LCII and LCIIIs, Performas, PowerPCs before purchasing my first iMac (Rev C 333MHz) which was still going strong up until relatively recently running Tiger. He left the teaching profession (although not the education sector) last year to work as a Mac Systems Administrator at CPIT, where he gets to play with the 150 or so Macs on campus.

Lowededwookie/Darryn - Darryn is a Systems Engineer for Datacom, where he has worked for the last 6 or 7 years. He works mainly with Windows based machines but have just gone into a partnership of sorts with Renaissance to look after larger Mac customers, so he is currently working towards Apple Certification. During the course of his job you'll probably run into him doing work at NZ Post shops and Lotto terminals around the greater Wellington area, but he does work for various government departments. He's been around computers since he was 8 (around 25 years ago). He came to Macs from Amiga, choosing a Ruby iMac 450 DV because he wanted to get into desktop video. He currently has an original Intel Mac Mini as well as a pre-single cut Aluminium MacBook Pro 15".

Thanks to everyone involved. I hope we can continue this podcast series in the New Year. I'm so pleased that one of the final contributions to the site for 2008 is content generated by site users!

Cheers,

Phil
