ImageIn the first podcast for 2006, Jeff and Phil from Desktop Technology Services Limited in Palmerston North talk about their predictions for Mac announcements that we might see in the coming year.

In this special extended addition of the NZMac.com podcast (note from today podcasts time limits will be increased from 2 to 3 minutes) we hear some of the sure and not so sure products Steve Jobs might announce with the immortal phrase “One more thing...”. You can listen to the podcast here

Starting off with an expected announcement of a new iPod shuffle, Jeff suggests we might see shuffles released in coloured versions, whilst Phil (as only Phil can) suggests they might be combined into new forms, such as glasses or hearing aid based shuffles!

New iBooks are something all rumour sites are speculating about, and Jeff and Phil share their thoughts on this. Whilst touching on the topic of more interest is the speculation that the iBook will go widescreen.

From a new Mac mini, to being used as a media centres (possibly even with a TV card) they speculate as to the constant rumour of an Apple based PDA.

Near the end of the podcast, Jeff shares his experience in seeing the question put to an Apple Australia representative about when we might see an iTunes Music Store in New Zealand.

Check out the podcast via iTunes or by clicking here to listen.

Note: I have recently moved the location of the podcast files into a new directory and am waiting for Apple to update the information in iTunes. All it means is that Podcast 5 may not appear in iTunes for a couple of days, so just listen to the podcast via the link above in the meantime.
