Those of you that read this site regularly or have sent the article in New Zealand Macguide will know that Peter Mellow is a very enthusiastic Mac user. Peter was the organiser of the Mac Expo in New Zealand last year, and Peter and I are also one of 15 Flexible Learning Leaders in New Zealand who met last week as the funding we have received for the past twelve months came to a conclusion.
But as I began winding down from a fantastic twelve months, Peter was ramping up for one more final piece of travelling....to the World-Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
As I nursed a fairly bad cold last week, my colour turned a worse shade
of green as I realised with envy that Peter was going to get to be a
part of a great happening, which websites already are shaping up into
one heck of an event. And (as we told everyone repeatedly last week) he was going to "get to see God!"
I hope Peter doesn't mind me referring to him as "Our Man in San
Francisco" but when chatting with him in Hamilton, I
commented that I'd accept anything he could send NZMac.com's way in
terms of news and images from the WWDC...and so here is Peter,
having just arrived in San Francisco and gearing up for the event. I
hope to provide you with more news and images from Peter over the next
few days.
Peter's just got off the plane and into the registration area as you
see in these images...."Day 0" as he puts it. He's off to sleep to get
ready for the Keynote...which he promises to try and take lots of
photos of for us.
Thanks Peter. More to come in the next few days folks!
Peter is attending the WWDC partly through funding as a Flexible Learning Leader. FLLinNZ is an e-Learning Collaborative Development Fund project from the University of Waikato and is funded by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) Te Amorangi Matauranga Matua.
