I have for sale a faulty basically brand new iPhone...
The gist of it is, there is something wrong with the comms board.
It has been unlocked for use in NZ.
Things that work:
- You can make calls
- You can receive calls if it is awake
- You can receive text messages if it is awake
- All iPod functions
- Syncs with iTunes, all music etc
Things that don't work:
- Wireless networking (Airport/802.11x) - grey WiFi 'Not available' as if the module is not recognised
- Battery runs out much quicker than it should (about a day of use)
- It won't wake up to receive a call - it is receiving the call, the screen just doesn't light up or ring, so if you happen to turn it on when receiving a call, you will see an incoming call
- It won't wake up to receive a text
- I'm not sure if EDGE/GPRS works
Would be great to use in a car with iPod input, where you simply sync it with your iTunes Library, and leave it plugged in 90% of the time. You can easily sync two iPhones with your iTunes Library, so if you already own an iPhone it's no problem.
To people who have experience unlocking iPhones, it does not seem to be fixable with various 'Grey WiFi' fixes on the net. I have tried most things.
Who knows, there may be a fix out in the future, if the problem is a corrupt NVRAM or something, but I suspect it is a hardware fault.
I used it for 1 day and then WiFi randomly died, so it is mint condition, no scratches etc.
I will just sell the iPhone itself, no box (well you can have it if it is a deal breaker), no cables, no headphones, no dock. Just use a standard iPod cable to sync with.
If you can PM me with your offer, I will let it go to the highest 'bidder'.
I am in Auckland but will courier about the country.
Cheers.
James.
I can send a photo if required...
