Does anyone know where in NZ you can buy Leopard with an education discount.

In the US students are able to buy Leopard for $US69 from their campus IT shop, however in NZ, we don't really have the same deal with campus'.

The only thing I have found is www.studentit.co.nz and they haven't put Leopard on their site yet.

Apple NZ online is now only giving an edu discount of $179 as apposed to $129 (which was the edu price for Tiger).

Are you sure re the US? The reason I ask is that I was listening to Mac Break Weekly (audio podcast) and they were having a laugh at how there was so little difference between the education and full Leopard price....I'm sure they were saying it was $8 US or something in difference?

In some universities, if you go to Apple's Online education page, the $US69 price is showing also because the IP is being detected as being from inside the university.

These features clearly don't exist in NZ. And no universities (are selling Leopard at any sort of price comparitive to the US "real" education discount).

I think the best bet will be at Studentit.co.nz unless Renaissance get a bit greedy.

If I recall correctly, users on MacRumors from the US, Canada and England have come across this. Haven't heard anything about Aus.

I would suspect that they are deals done specifically with those Universities...and you're right....I suspect it is detecting where people are when they look.

I work at a Uni and in NZ, we're just pointed (usually) to the standard Apple ed price (note, you said Renaissance when really, it's apple these days that you're buying from). I'd be surprised if any reseller offers an NZ-based education price cheaper than that of Apple sorry.
