You need iTunes to be able to access the lectures (one of the complaints about the free iTunes U service that Apple are providing to any University
that wants to use it, as it requires proprietary software) but I thought you might be interested in the fact that Berkeley are offering public access to a range of its lectures.... http://itunes.berkeley.edu/

Yeah people say that the ipod and itunes are proprietary but mp3s work fine on them
And we still can't buy fairplay wrapped songs from an itunes store in NZ so no worries about that part yet. Basically the content is only locked to the ipod if you want it to be.

Stanford's iTunes U has some good content too (incl. video of Steve Jobs 05 Commencement Speech[itunes])
