Freeware Download 1 Year, 4 Months ago

Good morning from S.E. Australia. I recently downloaded a Mac freeware game, no problems. Found it in proper place in my downloads folder, an .exe file. When I double tap to open I get an e-mail screen with the file sitting inside as an attachment. I've tried pick and drag to applications/desktop etc but it still will not open. the solution is probably as obvious as the wart on my nose but can anyone advise?

The file you've downloaded with the .exe suffix is a Windows executable file (basically a Windows application - or at least one masquerading as one) Your Mac won't be able to open it unless you have Some form of Windows running i.e. Parallels What was the game or site you downloaded it from?

hehe sorry to laugh.. but like Gim says that is a windows executable file. You could always install bootcamp and then XP and install it there to play. What ever you do, not install Vista, see here why
