A DVD Game is presumably a game built around standard DVD functionality - and so should play in any compatible DVD player, such as the one in your emac.

Playstation games are built to run on playstations. Sadly, your emac won't be able to run them. There was a piece of software that would allow you to run and play playstation games on a Macintosh, but Sony bought the software, and it vanished never to be seen again :?

Interesting, I could never get it to run on my Mac. What version of DVD Player do you have?

I'm pretty sure it was called Virtual Game Station. If you do a search on a P2P network you should be able to find it. You might also want to check out this. (I haven't tried the later but it looks like it could be what you are looking for). As far as I know there aren't any PS2 emulators. There was a group developing one a while back but I don't think it was ever finished.

There is an emulator for OS X to run PS 1 games called PCSX.

pcsx.gpost.dk/

I think it is still in development stage however. (And not entirely sure of it's legality?? ops: )

Theoretically you could also use Virtual PC from Microsoft to run Windows games on a Mac but like any emulator it is going to ber very slow. Plus it is quite expensive.
If you want affordable mac games have a look at your local Apple authorised reseller and see if they have a 'bargin bin' for old games. That is where I get most of mine.
Of course when the intel macs come out next year you will be able to run windows natively on them so running windows games will be even easier

After Jobs' presentation, Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller addressed the issue of running Windows on Macs, saying there are no plans to sell or support Windows on an Intel-based Mac. "That doesn't preclude someone from running it on a Mac. They probably will," he said. "We won't do anything to preclude that."

I also remember reading somewhere that Windows can be installed and booted off the Intel Mac developer boxes, but that doesn't prove much.[/url]

Steering the discussion back on topic...

Theoretically you could also use Virtual PC from Microsoft to run Windows games on a Mac but like any emulator it is going to ber very slow. Plus it is quite expensive.

The other problem with trying to run Windows games under Virtual PC is limited 3D graphics capability, which basically means no 3D games work that great

For Playing older "classic" DOS games, the DOSBOX program works well,

I am sucessfully playing the original wing Commander, Red Alert, Tie Fighter, Dune2, etc all through emulation, on a 2Ghz G5 it is playable,
- Very good for those moments when you yearn for games of a simpler era.
