Cant see Vodafone going for it - they would have by now if they were interested.
This is probably due to the lower cut iTunes would offer them on music downloads especially when Vodafone offer their own in house music download service.
In the UK they petitioned for the iPhone to be legally unlocked for use with other network providers.
Personally I wonder why Apple don't just make iTunes available for all iPhone users - just like they do now on personal computers. Obviously its the bottom line revenue again....

Hopefully Vodafone will be the provider in NZ
Last "news" I read (in The DomPost, in March 08) said that Telecom is the likely provider in NZ.

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/04/30/adobes-open-screen-project-write-once-flash-everywhere/
Adobe has opened up the Flash player, including access to its API's. The link is a good discussion and offers possible hope re Flash on the iPhone
The promise of the Open Screen Project to developers is the age-old dream of being able to write an application once and deploy it anywhere across any device. Adobe and its slew of partners in the Open Screen Project (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Qualcomm, Samsung, Motorola, LG, Toshiba, NTT Docomo, Chungwa Telecom, ARM, Intel, Marvell, Cisco, NBC Universal, MTV Networks, and the BBC) are not alone in this desire. Notably absent from Adobe’s list of partners is Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Each has its own ideas on how this cross-device compatibility will work.
Apple thinks you should just buy Apple products that work seamlessly together (Mac, iPhone, Apple TV). Steve Jobs also notably snubbed Adobe by refusing to put Flash on the iPhone. Maybe his engineers can now make their own version that satisfies their exacting standards.
Cheers,
Phil

Given the lack of details, I'd say its quite likely the deal with Vodafone is *not* exclusive, although Vodafone may discount their own iPhones with lock-in contracts...
Also, I think we have to assume this is in reference to the 3G phones...
Very very interesting... particularly if it really does mean non-exclusivity...

Please don't post press releases here. Either email them to me (philip.roy@nzmac.com) or quote a bit and link to it...otherwise, we'll be getting a whole thread full of press releases. Please also note that the links such the Herald's are simply writing on top of a fairly breif press release from Vodafone at the moment.
Cheers, Phil

This will be the 3G iPhone there is no way that with less than 4wks to WWDC they are going to launch anything in NZ. Rogers (canadian telco) also recently announced that they would be launching the iPhone in the Canadian market. Apple are closing the gaps in their current go to market coverage ready for the 3G phone. I would expect a big announcement at WWDC to tie in with the launch of the AppStore going live.
