Menu bar clock problem 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Both our macs - G4 iMac and eMac - woke up this morning with their menu bar clocks 1 hour slow. System prefs date & time shows the correct time and when the clock 'view in: window' option is selected it shows the correct time. I've tried all the obvious - trash pref file, safe boot. As this morning was the North American daylight saving change I suspect last years NZ DST mod may be involved in some way. I'm running OS X 10.3.9 on both computers. Anybody else got a slow menu bar clock?

Do you have the location set to the US accidentally? Have you tried clicking the option for it to pick up time from a time server?

Cheers, Phil

Thanks Phil, Location is NZ and time is from apple asia server. I have found that manually changing date to April 6 corrects the problem which tends to confirm it's DST rules related and will go away when DST ends. Today is also the end of DST in North America so that too much of a coincidence not to be significant. I have also have a friend who's discovered he has the prob.

Yep it sounds like the DST settings haven't been upgraded for our change in DST. Remember our DST got extended this time around, so we would normally have changed back to regular time about now.

I think running 10.3.9 means you missed out on any patches that were brought out for Tiger. Give it time and it will right itself.
