I'm interested in knowing what dashboard widgets people use and find useful.

Mine are:
- iStat pro. Really useful for telling me lots of stats about what's going on in the computer.
- iCal. From the default ones you can select. Shows the events for the day and displays a month calendar.
- weather. From the default ones, it shows the latest forecast for Wellington.
- Empire cinema session times. A customised one, using the feature where you can select a portion of a web page and the widget always shows the most recent version (in this case the session times at my local cinema)
- Public Address updated. One I made using DashCode, where is shows me the most recent blogs from the last ten days on the publicaddress.net blog site.

What else do people use?

For iCal, you might want to look at this that I put a client on to.... http://www.benkazez.com/icalevents.php

I use...
* The NZMac.com news widget
* The stock widget (to keep track of my 2 shares in Apple)
* TimeScoller (http://www.timescroller.com/Download.html) as it's handy when arranging web conferencing times with people and keeping track of when Apple events happen overseas
* AppUpdate (http://gkaindl.com/software/app-update) for checking how uptodate my apps are, although it's not perfect
* Widget update (http://gkaindl.com/software/widget-update)...ditto for widgets
* Dashalytics (http://dashalytics.rovingrob.com/) for looking at site stats...but I prefer to use the Adobe AIR app that does it so much better
* Amazon Album Art widget (http://www.widget-foundry.com/widgets/amazonart.htm) to get covers for albums that iTunes can't find

Thanks for the link to the iCal events widget - I've just installed it and like it already!

I'm always disturbed by how much memory each widget uses whenever I look at the system monitor utility.

At the moment, the only widgets I have open are:
* The Dictionary widget, as it's quicker than opening the dictionary application (which I don't have in the dock)
* A little world clock widget so I can keep tabs on what time it is in different locations around the world

There's others installed that I open when I need them however:
* A couple of CSS helpers
* A periodic table widget (since it's quicker than hunting out a chemistry text book)
