The backlight on my 12" G3 laptop is dependant on the angle the screen is positioned, from what I can find on google I'm guessing the 'hinge cable' has fractured. Has anyone attempted to repair/relace this? I'm reluctant to get a commercial fix which would cost more than the thing is worth... All comments welcome - Thanks

Yes I have done this on one machine.
It is not a hard repair the main problem is the amount of screws you need to remove to get there.

I may have a spare cable, Ill have a look later and let you know.

would it be possible to take a look at the damaged cable? With a view to seeing what would be involved in fabricating/repairing a new one?
I'm happy to send a prepaid courier bag and a deposit as security and return your damaged cable
I'd like to see what's involved before making a start
