Hi all,
Work just kindly replaced my CRT external monitor (attached to my MacBook Pro) with a shiny widescreen LCD monitor (Viewsonic VX2235wm) that has DVI connections, which is cool.
I have a pair of old PC speakers attached to the laptop for audio, but I note that the new LCD monitor has inbuilt speakers....but when I go to try them out, there is a very noticeable high-pitch noise....which disappears when I shut the laptop down.
It's not gut-wrenching static, but a high pitched noise making me think that it is picking up hard drive activity or something like that. I've tried a different cable and got the same result.
It would be cool if I could unclutter my desk a bit and use the inbuilt speakers, but they're not usable at the moment and am having to use the old PC speakers still.
How do I fix this?
Cheers, Phil
