Boot Camp Query 1 Year, 2 Months ago
Have also posted this Q in the Apple forums so bear with me. Have just tried to install XP through Boot Camp. When it comes to hitting "Enter" in XP to continue I get no response from the keyboard. Now a lot of suggestions in Apples forums say unplug the keyboard/mouse when you start the install, have done with no response. This is using Boot Camp V1.3 which from the sound of it has lots of probs. Would you suggest using and earlier version. Am running a Mac Pro Dual 2.6 w/ ATI X1900XT.

I don't really think it's a boot camp issue. My first guess would be hardware, try borrowing a USB wired keyboard from someone. try a different USB port. Is the enter key not working or has the computer frozen?

Please don't say hardware issue. Have tried plugging keyboard into all USB ports available and makes no difference. Have unplugged mouse and keyboard on reboot to no avail. Don't really want to explain to the other half why I have spent $600+ on a new Apple internal drive so I can run the original 250gb on Windoze and it won't install!!

Does Boot Camp support running Windows on a separate drive rather than as a partition of your main Mac OS drive? (if that's what you're trying)

Please don't say hardware issue. Hardware meaning Keyboard, where during the install does it not work?
