Re:Staying logged on 8 Months, 1 Week ago
Having filled in the survey today, one of the things I mentioned was this issue which hasn't gone away for me.

I'm running 10.4.11 and using Safari Version 3.0.4 (523.12.2).

Whenever I log in, the cookie that seems to set the time only keeps me logged in for 30 mins.

I think it is this one:
Code:

Website: .nzmac.com ;
Name: __utmb ; Path: /

The expiry time is always half an hour from when I log in then changes depending on my activity. I have deleted it, logged out, refreshed, deleted it again, then logged back in and it always come back the same.

It is at the point now that I will come and read posts, but seldom will I post because I have to go through the log in process each time. Writng it, it seems lazy but it's becoming a pain.

Hmm (thanks for the survey submission)...this is a bit beyond me, but I did try and find what the issue was last time. When I log in to the back-end of the site, I only have one option related to cookies...session expiry....which is set to 3600 seconds...ie, one hour. So this seems at odds with your 30 minutes and also at odds with what I find.

I could increase that session limit, but it's more than you are experience any way.

Any chance you could try creating a new user account on your Mac and trying with that? I wonder if there's a cookie in your account that just won't let go of old issues or site functionality.

And if I sound vague, it is because I'm not sure where to look

Phil

I'm running Safari 3.0.4 on 10.5 and everything is fine.

Does it work okay when you use another browser Gimli?

The __utmb cookie is from Google Analytics to measure your session time and not related to logging in.

You should see another nzmac.com cookie with an encrypted name and content and expiry 12 months from the last time you logged in, this one keeps you logged in.

I have two such cookies, and for both the expiry date is blank.
