An informed opinion is better than a strong one.

The logo's fine but it looks odd on a white background with blue border hanging off the top of the blue mast like it is.
www.ferrit.co.nz is a nice example of a high profile local css design.

I suppose in the end it comes down to personal taste as to what you like.
In general, I don't like modern art where you need an interpreter to find out what it means but meanwhile others pay a lot of money for it.
I had a look at the "Ferrit' website and I was not impressed. I think the NZMac logo looks much better, but that is my opinion.
Maybe whenever Phil has a lot of spare time () we can have a poll, and arty people can sent in some examples.
Coming back to the original post: JaNiles is entitled to is opinion, but I think it could have been expressed in a less "nasty'" way.

The problem with a poll or a suggestion that people submit ideas is that it implies I either want new ideas or will change the logo based on an entry. Wrong on both accounts.

The main reason I do not try and make my sites standards is quite simple:
It takes to much time.
Something like 98% of websites aren't standards compliant.
It isn't really necessary, sites still look good if there not compliant.

As Duey said, ie for Mac? It's not even worth taking it into account as it has such a small market share (less than 1% on my site, and that's Mac focused so for a general site it would be even lower).

We're arguing over something we all agree on. I had misinterpretted Duey when he said he makes uure that things work in Safari and IE and then everyhting is OK. I made suggesstion he check this site in IE and he'd see that's not the case or a good approach.

Agreed...Mac IE hits are less then 2% on this site aand it's not worth bothering about, and I think Duey was talking abouyt the PC version of IE.

I thought similar about IE for Mac, until I read 'The Software Used To Access The BBC Homepage (October 2005)' - http://www.currybet.net/articles/user_agents/index.php - the fifth page: http://www.currybet.net/articles/user_agents/5.php contained the somewhat stunning statistic of 30% of Mac visits to the BBC homepage being from Internet Explorer... :?

I love the logo. It shows what apple came from to what it is today (classic apple to aqua)
Its been there for as long as i can remember.
