Help - Buying iWork 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi,
my iWork trial has finished and when I click on the Buy button within the software it takes me to the US Apple site. But should I buy from there or come back to the NZ website and buy from there. The issue bing that if I buy off US website I get a serial number emailed to me, whereas the NZ website will ship me physical boxes instead. I need the software working now, not when the post delivers....yes I know I should have planned better

Any ideas please

Gordon

Edited by Phil - Sorry, a post describing how to reset software licensing trials isn't appropriate.

-normally wouldn't have, but it seemed like he needed it asap. Actually had to reset the trial for a friend who was about to give a keynote presentation to the IFS department at school and needed to change a few things but the trial had just run out. They were nearly in tears and weren't in a position to buy it right then and there, and promised to buy the software, so I just reset the trial.

My bad, I guess I just am a sucker for going overboard to help people when I can.

Gordon, I'm not sure you do just get a serial via that approach....I think they still send out a boxed product.

If you'd like to support the site, click the link in my forum signature and it will redirect to the Apple NZ store. You'll support the site at no extra cost to you. Once you do get to the site, check the freephone number...you could call them to see if there is a way to get a serial, but I don't think there is.

Cheers, Phil

Hi Phil,

thanks for the reply. The US website gives you the choice of either shipping a box or receiving a serial number in email and shipping a box. For some reason the NZ site doesnt have the email option. Happy to click through so you get credit when I buy, but if the NZ site doesnt deliver immediately by email then I might as well go down to Dick Smith and buy off the shelf cos I need it now, not in a week.

Yes I know, bad planning (well actually no planning at all!)....

iroiro - thanks for trying to help

NZ Apple products generally ship from Australia. I ordered iWork on a Tuesday and it was delivered to my work on Wednesday!!

Serial email is not available in NZ - I tried that but got referred to the NZ site for a boxed set.

Same product is available through NZ retailers at same price, many of these are on-line but unless you are in the same town you won't get it much quicker than through Apple.

By the way. Most new Macs come with Microsoft Office Trial but you cannot register this and still need to buy a boxed set at the end of the trial.
