So my favourite band of all time is the Hoodoo Gurus (prefer their earlier stuff)....and on Friday Sept 4 I will be in Sydney for the weekend and I was going to go and visit the Apple store in Sydney. Look who is playing live there that night...for free!!

That is awesome, great bands, cool hardware and a fantastic venue... what more could you ask for! (OK the one thing I'd ask for is some Apple stores in NZ!!!! But I don't think that will every happen)

I went very quiet on this thread, and for paranoid reasons

I emailed Apple Australia on the day I learned about the iTunes Live event and asked if there was any way I could get in. They kindly came back and said my name (+1 for my mate) would be at the door, and sure enough it was! I didn't post that here, as I didn't want anyone in Oz reading that, turning up and using my name.

It was a a great experience and an interesting one...you'll see I even took a photo of what they did to all the tables...just closed up all the cabled laptops during the performance. The Gurus played for about 45 minutes in total (a bit disappointing, but we were in a computer shop) and it was a great (if slightly odd) experience.

I really loved the fact that all VIPs got a dog tag that included 5 free purchases on iTunes. iTunes OZ that is, so I gave mine to my mate and his wife (who had stayed home with their kid). Images here....
