I use QuickTime alot. It's the fast way to trim a single file or save a file in a different format without phaffing about with other apps.

I kinda like the new interface where the borders all disappear when you are watching, but I really hate the fact that the controls and boarders appear *on* the video whenever you use them.

Take a look at the attached image. I just made a really quick screen video using SnapzPro. I stuffed up my start and end, so I just need to trim it....but the prime part of considering where I trim relates to the top and left edge of my clip....but with the new QT, I can't easily see that top area, because the border that has appeared keeps getting in the way.

Look at the second window on the same image. QT 7 and your entire movie is not obscured in any way whilst trimming. It just makes things so much cleaner.

But it's a translucent border so you can see through it. Also this doesn't happen if you fullscreen it which has the added benefit of stopping you from getting distracted while editing.

Really? You can tell me if there's some text above the date in that first image? I sure as heck can't and it is exactly what I had to look for...a bug, where some gibberish appeared momentarily.

Damn sight easier to see if there's there or not in the second image.

Re fullscreen...there's still the possibility that QT will obscure something you're wanting to edit by where it places the trim bar.

From the screen shots you gave I can see the text very clearly through the tool bar.

As for fullscreen it's 20 pixels at best you lose meaning it would be only a minor amount being lost to the bar. It would affect 4:3 video the most as on 16:9 video it cuts of maybe 5 pixels the rest is dead screen anyway.

Right, but my point is, the bit you lose could be the bit (as in my case) that you want to concentrate on the most.

Sorry, but you seem to be suggesting that it's OK for a program's interface to get in the way of what it is you are trying to look at and edit? Coz that's what my 'bug' is all about.
