Back in late October of last year, I had the opportunity while at a conference in Santa Clara, to attend a presentation by Andy Ihnatko in which he humorously talked about iTunes, the iPod and the future of Apple.

Late in his talk, he brought together all the various strands of his superb speech with a little bit of speculation. He was sure that the next step in Apple's development would be iTunes selling video clips, but didn't feel that this would lead to a video iPod. However, recent speculation over the real reason for Apple's decision to switch to Intel might surprise some. Many are now speculating that it relates to video.

Its path of twists and turns is littered with decisions and lost chances and "What If's?" that forever keep us interested in such a great company. What if Apple had licensed its operating system in the early days?...what if they'd bought Be instead of NeXT?

Websites are reporting the arrival of what meany might see as the first true virus for Mac OS X. The "Opener" virus, as it is being referred to, has the potential to disable the built-in firewall, and to possibly steal information and corrupt or destroy data.

One of the sites to pick up on the issue promptly, was the Macintouch website, who now features a section dedicated to news on the problem.
