Mac OS X Trojan horse surfaces Print
Written by Philip Roy

A Trojan Horse application that affects Mac users has appeared on the Internet. Despite some disagreements, most suggest the Trojan is not a virus as it does not take advantage of any  security flaws in the operating system. DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR RUN THIS FILE EVEN AS A TEST

Extensive details about the Trojan are available on the Ambrosia Software discussion forum and please note that this threat will only run on the Macintosh OS X version 10.4

Symantec have released details to what they call the "OSX.Leap.A" worm and what Intego have called (based on comments by Ambrosia’s Welch) the Oompa-Loompa trojan

Symantec have posted details on how to avoid the Trojan which can be found here...

Ambrosia have been quick to point out that this is not in fact a virus, however Sophos would like to disagree, even calling on people to vote as to whether they feel it is a virus or not....
