MovieFest 2007 is now accepting entries of digitally created short movies on the topic "In Retrospect".
Looking back to 2001, MovieFest was started by the Wellington Macintosh Society - to promote the use of iMovie and digital video editing on the Mac, it grew to accept entries from any video editors, including Windows and Linux, but still kept it's Apple based roots and rewarded the winners with copies of Final Cut Pro or computers pre-loaded with iMovie supplied by Mac dealers and sponsors.
Today, the competition is nation-wide, and accepts entries from all
ages, and levels of skill - from 7 year olds trying out iMovie and stop
motion to seasoned professionals, who cut their teeth on Maya and
Shake, and have a render farm of XServes for their shorts.
Each Movie entered is $30, and must be submitted in digital form (DV tape or digital video on a disk) by 24th August 2007. Teams can find out more information and register online at http://MovieFest.org.nz/07/register
