Wellington saw the opening of its first Apple Premium Reseller on Lambton Quay recently. The Bay store, which opened on November 5th, will offer the complete range of Apple products including Macs, iPods and a full suite of software, accessories and bags.

The Bay's owner, Grant Bremner, says "As an Apple Premium Reseller, we strive to be the place to come to check out new Apple products, see demonstrations of new equipment, or attend seminars and events based around the latest technology."

"We live and breathe the Mac. We make it easy for people to learn about the advanced capabilities of the Apple products. Its an ideal time now to switch from the old PC world. We can help you choose which Mac is right for you and provide impartial advice on every aspect of your purchase. We will help you to make your Mac and iPhone work seamlessly for you with your music, photographs, movies, work life and more. We will also provide guidance and seminars on many aspects of the Mac platform.

"In The Bay store you'll be able to surf the web, check your emails, listen to music, watch movies, and test-drive new products before you take them home with you. We're also the place to get expert advice if you're running a small business or are a pro wanting to do more with your Mac."

Mr Bremner says The Bay will operate in accordance with strict environmental values, and will be, from day one, carbon neutral. The Bay is leveraging its climate change business experience in this new venture.

"We do everything possible to have a positive environmental impact. We select eco-friendly suppliers. For example we source our electricity from Meridian so that it's carbon neutral; we are piloting a carbon neutral courier service with New Zealand Couriers; and we choose eco-friendly products ahead of others.

"The Bay store is a first for Apple in Wellington, and follows an international standard. We're minimalist; The Bay store is simple and uncluttered, but features fantastic product displays. Everyone loves Apple."

The Bay opened at 5 pm on Guy Fawkes night, November 5, and Mr Bremner says staff are looking forward to helping customers with the "coolest products available on the planet". That will give people a chance after work to enjoy some time in the store before the fireworks start at 9 o'clock.

"People can come down and find out how they can get more out of their digital camera, or video camera. If they are thinking about iPods then they definitely need to come and see The Bay for the complete range and the best accessories. If they have heard friends talking about Macs, then this is the place to get their hands on them and understand what makes the Apple experience so fantastic.

"It's all about lifestyle - giving people that balance between work and play – and doing it applying trendy, beautifully designed, easy-to-use technologies. In the end we're about making it simple and fun."
