BH Projects, located in Auckland, New Zealand, announces the final update to the Macintosh’s favorite Mahjong Solitaire game: Mah Jong Solitaire 2. The first Mah Jong Solitaire game on Mac to feature OpenGL and 3D graphics, it’s still the best available game of this type on the system.
Offering nine different variations of the classic game, 55 different layouts and 13 different tilesets, the latest Mah Jong Solitaire features a unique iTunes integration system. The game will automatically stop it’s own built in music and display the current iTunes song onscreen. You can then skip to the next or previous track without leaving your game.
In addition to the classic mahjong solitaire game, it offers “Memory Mode” where only a few tiles are visible at a time for greater challenge. The popular “Two Turns” mode is available, as is the “Flowers and Seasons” mode where strictly one box of mahjong tiles is used. For a change try the “Stacker” modes where tiles collect on a bar and dissolve when two match.
Mah Jong Solitaire 2 has collected a great many graphics effects to enhance the experience. In addition to high quality textures, 3D graphics, selectable tile removal effects, two different tile models, particle effects, lighting, shadows, and many other effects Mah Jong Solitaire 2 now features 4X Full Screen anti-aliasing for an even smoother game.
Mah Jong Solitaire 2 allows for the creation and play of absolutely huge puzzles, of up to 16 layers deep. The game has active zoom which expands and increases the size of the layout according to how much is left onscreen.
Making your own layouts is only part of the customization process. If you don’t like the built in music you can replace it with your own selection with the game’s built in playlist editor. The game features a collection of high quality backgrounds shot around New Zealand, but by adding more to a directory in your Library you can expand the selection with your own photos.
