NZMac.com - Supporting the New Zealand Mac community

Speck Products have done it again! They've donated 6 more iPod cases for users of the site to review and keep. This round there are a couple of cool metal cases for iPod Shuffle users as well as the return of the iGuy, this time he's morphed himself into iPod mini form...he's amazing!

So this news item is a "call for expressions of interest" from people that would be willing to review a case and contribute to a new review of the Speck Products iPod accessories. You get to keep the case as a thank you and it's all so easy.

So here's how it works....

• Address an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , with the subject "iPod cases review"
• On first line please put your name
• On the second line, put which ONE item you'd like to review
• iPod mini iGuy
• iPod shuffle Skin-Tight ArmBand
• iPod shuffle Metal
• iPod mini ToughSkin
• On the third line, please indicate if you are able to take a couple of images with a digital camera by stating "Have camera" or "No camera". This won't affect your chances
• Then put your postal address (which must be in New Zealand) and a very brief reason why you feel you should get to review a case (funny reasons acceptable)

Anyone who fails to complete the above process or lists more than one item to review will not be considered.

As PC users are able to use iPods and have been punished enough by the type of computer they choose to use, we're going to let them in on this review offer. So, you do not need to be a Mac user, but the review is to be focused on the product and not the operating system you connect to your iPod with.

Once reviewers are selected and announced, I'll send you the appropriate case. You'll then be expected to complete a review of 300-500 words within two weeks. You'll then forward your comments to NZMac.com along with any shots you can provide. The information and images will then be used to create a combined review of the accessories that Specks Products have supplied.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to post them in the forum or contact me. Do not express interest in writing the review in the forum, but to me via email.

You have until 9pm on Tuesday October 25th, 2005 to email me.

  Notes:

• iPod cases will only be shipped to a New Zealand address which must be supplied in the application process
• Reviews are to be 300 to 500 words in length and can include 1 or 2 images as attachments. These can be submitted as email, or attached to an email as a Word document or Appleworks file. Images should not be reduced in size or quality, but should be cropped to remove unwanted parts and attached separately.
• The review must include a rating out of 5 for each of the following:
• Installation & Documentation (in this case, set up)
• Ease of use
• Value for money
• Submissions must be entirely your own work and must not breach copyright or intellectual property rights in any way.
• By your submission you confirm that you have no association or financial involvement in the product being reviewed.
• By your submission you grant NZMac.com the right to make publicly available the submitted content as they see fit and (with permission from NZMac.com) for third parties to display your review comments on their site
• NZMac.com reserves the right to edit articles and reviews. In most cases, this will be done in consultation with the original author.
• Material submitted is not fact-checked for content accuracy and NZMac.com is not responsible for inaccuracies in the content contained in the article.
• By agreeing to undertake the review, you assume the risk of any and all damage or loss from use, or inability to use the product.

Well, I have to say, I've not had anyone write a justification to win an iPod case too review before in rhyming verse! And I'm afraid I gave in to how corny it was....just this once!
