NZMac.com - Supporting the New Zealand Mac community

Today sees the relaunch of the Business Directory section of the website. The new improved section sees ehanced features added that will benefit companies listing in this section (all listings are free) as well as great features for those using the site.

Any company that offers services to New Zealand Macintosh users is welcome to submit their company details. In most cases it is expected that companies will be New Zealand based and must provide services aimed at or suitable for Macintosh computer users, however obvious exceptions would be companies such as those in Australia who are able to provide services and products to us Kiwis.

There are no definitive rules on who can or cannot list there, but it must be apparent that you are offering a commercial service or are a business. If you want to simply promote a website that may be of use to Mac users in New Zealand, then you should post your website details in the "Useful Websites (Bookmarks)" section.

The Mac Business Directory section features:

• Contact details on every company listed as well as the option by companies to tell you about the service they provide.
  
• Categorisation of services available from companies and the ability for companies to be listed in multiple categories
• A "Spotlight on.." feature, listing details on a company selected at random from all listings each time someone views a Directory page
  
• A "Recommend to a friend" option so that users can tell others about a business they find in the directory
  
• A "Contact this business" option so that users can contact businesses directly from the website by completing an online form and having the details forwarded to the company in question
  
• A print friendly version of each entry
  
• Rating system - Users are able to give feedback on each the companies listed using they a 5 point scale rating system

And coming at a later date:

• The ability for companies to have their logo placed alongside their listing
• Direct access to a map of where each business is located
  

I encourage businesses to enter their details into this section of the site and for users of the site to participate in submitting ratings.
