 Today sees a new feature added to the site, the ability for users to add images to a personal gallery as part of their individual Community Profile.
Please note the term used there (Community Profile) as the site currently has two profiles per person...the forum profile and the community profile, the latter of which is accessed via the NZMac.com menu on the left of all pages.
Obviously the intention (ultimately) is that users will have “One profile to rule them all”, but at this stage, that’s something I’m still working on.
Note also that when you go to edit your community profile, you may find that it says you’re not authorised to access the area. You need to immediately logout and log back in at that point. Sorry...a slight quirk there that needs to be ironed out.
Users get 1 MB of gallery space (happy to review this at some point but it’s gonna cost me money to increase it) and galleries are not visible on user profiles until you go into your profile area and edit your profile to activate a gallery.
How to activate your gallery

Click on the “Your Community Profile”
- If it says you are not authorised to access this area, logout (if logged in) and then log back in immediately
- From the “Edit” menu in your profile, choose “Edit Profile”
- On the page that appears, choose the “My Gallery”, type in a short greeting (if you want) and set “Enable Gallery” to “Yes”. No other settings can be changed
- Click update
In keeping with the concept of NZMac.com, the images that would best suit the gallery might be things such as...

Images of you, friends or family (please check with them for permission before publishing)

Images of your Mac set-up or Mac events you’ve attended

Humorous Mac images you have the right to upload and display on the site

Nothing the breaches guidelines below
Guidelines for “My Gallery” use:

All images will be publicly visible to any visitors of the site

Galleries must not give the impression that they are representing or otherwise making statements on behalf of NZMac.com.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented images or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed).

You must pay particular attention to copyrighted materials, including cartoons, pictures and graphics
Note, the launch is very much a “see how it goes” affair and the terms of gallery use and access to them by users will be updated and/or reviewed as deemed necessary.
