NZMac.com - Supporting the New Zealand Mac community

So how do you like getting your site news stories? Some like it by visiting the site, some widget (I've made that a verb for a moment!), some subscribe to the NZMac.com news feed using Safari's RSS news system, some Firefox, Google or even NetNewsWire. Others pop in to see what's happening on a daily basis and to have a great old natter in the discussion forum.

Then some days you get just too swamped to do even that.

So imagine if you could get an email any time NZMac.com adds a new front page news story, review or feature. You can now. Thanks to the new "NZMac.com News Bulletin" service.

The NZMac.com RSS feed for news is already delivered on the site via the FeedBurner system. This is a site that takes the site RSS feed, tidies it up and makes it an easy feed that I can use from here on in, even if I ever change how I post news. The NZMac.com RSS news feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/nzmac-news/

But what if you just want to be notified by email if there's a new story...that's where the News Bulletin service comes in.

You'll now find that optional service in the left column of the site just after the RSS feeds. If you'd like to receive an email each day a new story has been added (and no email when there are no new stories) then feel free to subscribe...you don't even have to be a registered user of the site!

The service is provided by FeedBurner, who keeps a record of your email address (and they won't spam you), checks NZMac.com from about 1pm every day and then notifies you via email if it notices new stories have been added.
