NZMac.com - Supporting the New Zealand Mac community

This news item is a call for site users to express an interest in reviewing the "Discover Your Mac Spotlight movie". I have one copy to give away to someone that would like to review the product for NZMac.com.

The Discover Your Mac Spotlight movie is a comprehensive video guide to learning and using Spotlight. It's an educational video, an instructional movie, that helps you discover all the important features of Spotlight, the new technology for searching, organising and using the Mac.

You'll be provided with a CD (thanks to the folk at DiscoverYourMac.com) featuring the movie that is about 3 hours long, showing you all the important features of Spotlight. You also get an application that helps you play specific chapters of the movie and a Read Me file. The Spotlight movie plays in the Apple QuickTime player right on your desktop along with you as you work.

You'll need to be using Mac OS X 10.4.2 or above to review the product and more details on the product requirements can be found on the product site, as well as trailers giving you a taster as to what is contained on the CD. If you are interested in reviewing the CD...

• In the email, please put your name, your postal address (which must be in New Zealand) and a very brief reason why you feel you should get to review the CD

Once a reviewer is selected and announced, I'll send you the CD. You'll then be expected to complete a review of 600-900 words within three weeks. You'll then forward your comments to NZMac.com along with any shots you can provide. The information and images will then be used to create a review of the product.

• The CD will only be shipped to a New Zealand address which must be supplied in the application process
• The review is to be 600 to 900 words in length and can include 1 or 2 images as attachments. These can be submitted as email, or attached to an email as a Word document or Appleworks file. Images should not be reduced in size or quality, but should be cropped to remove unwanted parts and attached separately.
• The review must include a rating out of 5 for each of the following:
  • Installation & Documentation (in this case, to get the CD to work)
  • Ease of use
  • Value for money
• Submissions must be entirely your own work and must not breach copyright or intellectual property rights in any way.
• By your submission you confirm that you have no association or financial involvement in the product being reviewed.
• By your submission you grant NZMac.com the right to make publicly available the submitted content as they see fit and (with permission from NZMac.com) for third parties to display your review comments on their site
• NZMac.com reserves the right to edit articles and reviews. In most cases, this will be done in consultation with the original author.
• Material submitted is not fact-checked for content accuracy and NZMac.com is not responsible for inaccuracies in the content contained in the article.
• By agreeing to undertake the review, you assume the risk of any and all damage or loss from use, or inability to use the product.
• Anyone who fails to complete the application process will not be considered
• All information submitted by users will be deleted at the end of the contest
