Perhaps the most interesting enhancement is the ability for users to write reviews of the services that business provide. Previously users were only able to rate companies. Businesses are welcome to encourage customers/clients to register and provide a review and rating. [Businesses - please see end of article] The new system also allows businesses to edit listings without my involvement and they can now display up to 5 images (each 400x400, 300K) related to their business. These free gallery images are to be promotional images, not business logos or advertising. Examples could include images of staff, locations or the business in action. For a small fee, businesses are also able to have a company logo (300x300, 300K) with their listing, valid for two years. If you are a business with more than 5 listings (allowed for businesses that have many shops as NZMac.com allows a listing per location) please contact me directly with regards a logo and a fee associated with it. Other aspects of the former business directory remain, including a random listing of one business on each page load of the directory area. With regards a link to a map, businesses now aren't tied to one map system to show where a business is located and can now provide any URL link to a map. At the same time, those businesses who have had their businesses presented in an NZMac.com "Focus on..." article will continue to receive additional focus as part of the promotional advertising campaign.
Note - Businesses have received notification of this new system. Please allow some time for them to register, let me know their user name (so they can be assigned the right to edit their entries) and for them to update their details. The system uses a different component to the previous one, so please be patient as I tweak it a little.
Update Some businesses are logging in and adding new entries when there is already a listing for the company. Here's what to do instead...

Computers! Sorry folks...on launch I finally discovered a glitch with URLs I couldn't see whilst testing locally or with the component hidden. I think I have fixed it. The other good news is that now the search feature in the directory is working properly...meaning you can search by region, city, category etc |
