I'm pleased to announce the launch of "Shop NZMac.com"
today, allowing you to purchase merchandise featuring the NZMac.com
logo and in doing so, take an active part in both supporting and
promoting the NZMac.com website.
The NZmac.com shop, operates
through the Cafepress website and allows you to choose a huge range of
products including clothing, mousepads, calendars, coffee mugs and more!
Over the time in which NZMac.com has been running, I've received a
number of emails asking if I have any NZMac.com merchandising (such as
t-shirts) for sale or suggestions that I should consider putting up a
"donate" button on the site for users to contribute to.
Whilst the idea of merchandising has always interested me, I'm not a
great t-shirt wearer myself and the financial cost of having a supply
of merchandising made was just too prohibitive. At the same time,
although the concept of donations is a nice one and I readily donate to
a number of projects myself, I personally sit a little uncomfortably
with the idea of asking users for financial contributions.
Cafepress allows an approach that reaches a nice compromise, by letting
you receive something in return for showing your support for NZMac.com,
whilst also catering for those that may not simply want a t-shirt or
cap because of their ability to deal with each person's one-off order.
I'm someone who has purchased from other Cafepress shops before and am
more than happy with the quality of goods and service they provide.
The small downside in using Cafepress is that they operate from the
States, so there is a shipping fee that will be associated with any
purchase you make. A big bonus for me is that I'll also make use of the
system at a late stage to give away NZMac.com items in competitions, as
my focus is always about the site and encouraging others to participate.
If you are interested in showing your support for NZMac.com by making a
purchase, then I would welcome this and the opportunity for you to wear
the NZMac.com logo on your front, head, coffee mug, desktop or wall.
Obviously I get a small portion of the sale, which will be used to help
me pay for costs associated with running and maintaining the site.
To those that do make a purchase, I offer my thanks in advance. To
those that don't wish to, I continue to gratefully accept and
appreciate each and every supportive email sent through to me.
Regards,
Philip Roy
