Imagereviewers_announced.png The very kind folk at Parallels have offered a copy of Parallels Desktop 3.0 (a superb product I'm already using) to an NZMac.com user for review and publishing on this site. This news item is a call for you to indicate your interest in reviewing the software.

Parallels Desktop for Mac enables you to run Windows, Linux and more, side-by-side with Mac OS X on any Intel-powered Mac, without rebooting. With Parallels' award-winning virtualisation technology, you can run Mac OS X and your favourite Windows applications at the same time. You can even drag-and-drop files between desktops!

  • And more!
Top 5 reasons to run Parallels:
  • Run Windows-only applications on your Mac
Many of today's most popular applications are Windows-only. Parallels enables you to run these applications on your Mac. Play computer games? Most PC games only run on Windows. With Parallels, you no longer have to sacrifice your favourite games!
  • Run Selected 3D Games and Applications
OpenGL and DirectX support lets you explore a whole new world of 3D games and applications right on your Mac.
  • Use phones, MP3 players, and cameras with your Mac
With Parallels, you can use your favourite devices, even if they're Windows-only. Connect your Blackberry, phone, camera, and MP3 player to your Mac!
  • Run OS X, Windows, and Linux at the same time
With Parallels, you can run all of your favourite applications at the same time, regardless of the OS! No more rebooting to switch between OS's to use the applications you need.
  • No-worry migrations!
Parallels Transporter takes the hassle out of migration. No more losing valuable data, customizing your computer all over again, or reinstalling software. In just a few simple steps, you can move your entire existing Windows system to your new Mac.

Parallels and XPParallels will provide one NFR (Not For Resale) copy of Parallels Desktop for review. The person selected to review Parallels will get to keep this copy but obviously cannot on-sell the software.

In order to review the software you will need to ensure your Mac meets the following requirements....

  • Mac OS X Tiger 10.4 or higher running on an Intel Mac
  • 512 MB minimum available memory (1 GB recommended)

  • CD-ROM drive for installation (if applicable)
  • Networking Internet connection is required to receive online Parallels Desktop for Mac product updates
  • 16-bit or 32-bit display adapter recommended

You must also have a copy of either Windows XP or Windows Vista, which must feature as part of the review. Other operating systems (Linux for example) could also be discussed if you wish.

I would write the review but I already use 3.0.

I tell you this though, 3.0 is by far the best version of the software ever and is so very quick.
