Answer

More recently, the keyboard on Macs changed and instead of the standard F9, F10, F11 for expose, there is a single F3 button.

Although you can still access the other functions with use of the fn (function) key, there are other ways to bring up different Expose modes using the F3 key and not having to span to the fn key on far right of the USB keyboard.

  • F3 - All Windows (fn F9)
  • Control F3 - Application Mode (fn F10)
  • Command F3 - Show Desktop (fn F11)
  • Shift F3 - Slow motion
  • Option F3 - bring up Expose preferences pane
