The Perfora is designed as a case for 13 inch laptops and the MacBook. For MacBook owners who want to protect their precious laptop but don't need yet another shoulder bag Proporta have produced a Protective Laptop Case.  This is soft leather-like padded bag that holds a 13" MacBook tidily whether it's under your arm, in a stack of books and papers or inside a larger carry bag.  It is not a substitute for the comparted backpacks that some might use to carry a laptop along with a power supply, assorted cables, some papers and even an emergency snack bar.

Tidy protection from scratches and scrapes

 

The Protective Laptop Case has room only for the laptop itself and there are no handles or shoulder straps.   It's a tight fit for the13" plastic MacBook so you won't be tempted to put your paperwork in the case as well.  I tried it with a MacBook Air as well and I think it works well.  It's certainly easier to get the Air in and out of the Protective Laptop Case than Proporta's Classic Sleeve for MacBook Air that I found just too tight for comfort.

It's made of a soft faux leather with a very soft fabric lining that won't scratch.  The review model is in a strong granny-smith green and white that clashes with my office decor, but it is also available in a burgundy red or basic black and white.  I give it a high rating for quality of finish and usefulness provided you know it is not a carry-all shoulder bag. It is reasonably priced at $27.95 USD.
